How a customer picks a tradie
Saturday, 7:10 am. A gutter is overflowing.
It rained all night and there's water coming through the eave. They haven't got a tradie. They pick up the phone and type what's wrong.
They search the job, not the business.
"Gutter cleaning near me" gets about 4,400 Australian searches a month. "Roofer near me" about 5,400. Not one of those people knows your business name yet.
The map answers before anything else.
Three businesses show under the map, with stars and opening hours. Most people ring one of those three and never scroll further.
Or they post it on a marketplace.
On hipages, customers "get multiple quotes" from local tradies. Each one who wants the job pays for the lead, then competes on price for it.
The one with recent reviews gets the call.
Stars, a photo of real work, a review from last month and "open now". It's decided in about the time it takes to read this.
And you know where it came from.
We tag every call and form with the search that started it, so you know the map listing paid for itself, not "the website".
